Pat Caruso, Newest Member of the Newtown Rotary

As printed from Newtown Bee, November 25, 2005

Pat Caruso was inducted as the newest member of Newtown Rotary. Mr Caruso is president of Associated Refuse Haulers of Newtown and resides in Sandy Hook with his wife Joanne.

Mr Caruso became involved with Rotary when with his father he helped Rotary members clean up and move two truckloads of material from the old Newtown Manufacturing Company when it was sold earlier in the year.

The material will eventually be shipped to Ghana to provide three villages with water purifying distribution systems and to ten areas in Indonesia to provide safe drinking water to the victims of the Tsunami. Pat Caruso was impressed with what Newtown Rotary was doing to help peoples of the world and wanted to become part of such an organization.

Rotarian Jim Gulalo sponsored Mr Caruso. President Paul Lux conducted the induction ceremony. The safe water systems are being furnished by the World Help Foundation of Newtown.
